Rev. R. Antonio Carter was born in Montgomery, Al. He attended the Montgomery Public Schools, where he graduated from the Jefferson Davis High School in 2003. After high school he served his country as a Religious Program Specialist in the Navy. He works for the United States Postal Service. He is married to Angela Carter. He has one daughter Christina Antoinette. He started preaching May 2009 and was ordained a deacon in January 2015 and an elder in January 2018. He has pastored College Hill AME Zion in Selma, Al, Clinton Chapel AME Zion in Selma, Al, Mt. Mariah AME Zion Church in Montgomery, Al, Gough Tabernacle in Earlington, Ky Mt. Nebo AME Zion church in Marion, Al, Berry Chapel AME Zion Church in Berry Al and Shades Chapel AME Zion in Bessemer, Al. On October 20, 2024, at the 129th Central Alabama Conference Bishop Dwayne Walker appointed him to the St. Mark AME Zion Church in Ozark, Al.
